The Meanings Behind the Banners

+++The first banner --- the bread and chalice ---remind us that we are a people who gather around the

sacrament of Holy Communion --- as we are regularlynourished by the body and blood of Christ.

+++The second banner --- the hallelujah angel ---reminds us of God’s messengers who hailed both Jesus’ birthand later his resurrection --- and that we too are called to herald the good news of Jesus Christ.

+++The third banner --- the Luther Rose --- reminds us that we are a beacon proclaiming the gospel message from aLutheran perspective to the people of Sevier County as well asthe many visitors who come to this place on a yearly basis.

+++The fourth banner --- the Easter cross and flowers--- reminds us that Christ willingly died for the sake of our sins, and that his through his resurrection, Jesus offers to us the gifts of new life and eternal life.

+++The fifth banner --- the dove --- reminds us that the Holy Spirit, which came upon Jesus at the time of his baptism and the disciples on the Day of Pentecost, also dwells in each one of us. I also want to note that this banner was a collaborate effort between Lois and her daughter, Jill Cox.

New Banners in honor of our 50th year anniversary!

Thanks to Lois Tustison and the 50th anniversary committee for their work to bring wonderful celebration ideas to the forefront each month of the year.  We have collected school supplies, socks, favorite hymns, $5 bills for Mountain Hope Good Shepherd Clinic,and more each month (trying to get 50 of each item) and each time we have exceeded our goal.  The banners will hang in the fellowship hall of the church for all to see.

White Elephant Auction Items for Sunday, May 2nd

Join in the fun as we share dinner May 2nd along with a White Elephant Auction. To the right you will see two handmade quilts that have been donated and will be on auction!

These items will also be available: The auction will be open for bid until 10:00 AM and then closed for our hearts and mind to focus on our 10:30 worship service. Following our congregational meeting and throughout dinner the auction will again open for your silent bid. We appreciate all donations and they will benefit OSLC and be put towards general expenses of the church.

Easter Sunday Men's Breakfast

Thanks to the Men of Our Savior Lutheran Church for the delicious breakfast served on a beautiful Easter Morning. He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!

The next congregational dinner will be held May 2nd following the 10:30 service. There will be a wonderful dinner of Soup , Sandwiches and Salad, a congregational meeting, a white elephant auction and more.....keeping a surprise up our sleeves. We look forward to seeing you Sunday!
